Belize real estate opportunities in a incredible holiday destination

3 min read

What can you see in Belize and the Belize real estate openings. Belize is an incredible travel destination but you can also transform in a permanent tourist if you explore the local real estate market in Belize and purchase a property here. 1st let’s talk about a few attractions in Belize and we will finish with some advices about becoming a permanent tourist by buying a property in Belize. Located in northern Belize, Lamanai was once a considerably sized Maya city. The ancient ruins are not completely uncovered yet. Archaeological work has concentrated on the investigation and restoration of the larger structures such as the High Temple, a 33 meter tall temple. Since it was still occupied by the Maya when the Spanish arrived, Lamanai, which in Maya means “submerged crocodile”, is one of the few Mayan sites to retain its traditional name.

A paradise for divers and anglers, Turneffe Islands Atoll encompasses more than 200 coral islands surrounding a lagoon. It is one of three atoll reefs in Belize’s waters. Seascapes here range from crystalline flats to creeks and lagoons. Corals shimmer in the clear waters, and the atoll is a nursery for many different marine species including grouper, snapper, trunkfish, and the famed bonefish, which lures saltwater fly fishing enthusiasts from around the world. In particular, the vast flats on the eastern side of the atoll are ideal for casting a fly line or snorkeling in the shallows. Divers will find some excellent wall and current dives around the atoll, and the varied marine life includes eagle rays, nurse sharks, dolphins, conch, and turtles. Most of the resorts in the atoll are specialized diving and fishing lodges, however visitors can pop over for a day trip from Belize City, Ambergris Caye, and Caye Caulker.

Belize attractions and climate makes buying a property here a sweet idea. Imagine living permanently there… the joy. As Ambergris Caye, San Pedro and Belize continue to grow at an unprecedented rate, as so the opportunities for Real Estate investment does as well. Within Belize, Secret Beach has become one of the top emerging locations for locals and tourists. Secret Beach features pristine Caribbean ocean, no sea grass, sunset views, private inlets and so much more as the area continues to develop… it really can’t be beaten. This island off the coast of Belize is a tiny tropical paradise. With a large creole influence, you can expect delicious fresh seafood, and a laid back caribbean style – including no cars anywhere to be seen. The ocean beckons with a beautiful reef to explore, as cyclists and pedestrians enjoy the idyllic country roads, complete with reggae sounds hanging in the air. This is a place to slow down. And if you don’t, the locals will remind – out loud – to “go slow”. Queensland Australia may spring to mind when one thinks “Barrier Reef” and while it is spectacular, the Belize Barrier Reef is a worthy rival. The Belize Barrier Reef was in fact removed from the UNESCO endangered species list in mid 2018. The largest reef system in the northern hemisphere, the Belize barrier reef spans 125 miles – off the northern coast of Belize. Comprised of 7 marine reserve zones which house islands and atolls, the reef provides an ecosystem for over 500 fish species. Snorkeling and diving are permitted, but be respectful! Don’t remove anything from the reef as a souvenir.

The only large Maya city-state that’s original Mayan name has been preserved, Lamanai has been continuously occupied for more than 3,000 years. Located in the north of Belize in Orange Walk District, Lamanai holds a historical mix of ancient buildings, pyramids, and game courts alongside Spanish colonial-era churches and sugar mills.
