The quieter area of ??Kolsa, at the eastern end of the reserve, is crossed by Pangdi and Zari. Taboba, in the north of the reserve, covers the hills of Chimur. In the middle is Lake Tadoba, a crucial source of water for the region. The three gateways to the area are in Kolara (offers good access from Nagpur, and is under development), Navegaon (also provides good access from Nagpur, although housing is lacking), and Khutwanda (closer from Warora and Moharli).
