Toner cartridge online store
3 min readHere are some advices on how to lower the price of your printing operations. It is essential to clean your print head at least once a month. Remove the cartridge and clean the head with warm water. Don’t use wet tissues or alcohol to clean the print head. After cleaning, allow the print head to dry completely before fixing it back. You must also clean the insides of the printer regularly. Don’t wait until the dust and grime form layers, preventing your printer from operating efficiently. Use lint-free cloths that are slightly moist to wipe the dust away. While cleaning your printer, never apply too much force even if you encounter stubborn corners of grime. Use soft bristles and moistened Q-tips to remove the grime. Alternatively, you can also use compressed air to blow out the dust that is accumulated within the printer. Try to avoid using a vacuum unless it is a pressure-controlled vacuum that sucks the dust away gently.
At some point, you’ve probably seen a document come out of a printer with white lines running across the text or graphics that are missing ink, even though the cartridges are full. This means that the printer heads are clogged and need to be cleaned. Check out the manual that came with your printer or look on the manufacturer’s website to find out how to clean the printer heads on your particular model; many printers will self-clean with just a few clicks but can also be cleaned manually if you prefer. Just be careful not to clean the heads more often than necessary, as the cleaning process will use some ink.
Before you start printing any particular portion of text or graphics, decide its relevance and usefulness so that you do not unnecessarily spend time in printing things that may not be of much use. High variations in temperature can easily affect printer ink cartridges. Hence, make sure that they are not exposed to extreme heat or cold conditions to ensure a lasting performance.
Like any other machine, printheads have a life span for use before they need replacement. The first sign your printhead may be nearing replacement is a loss of print quality. If the issue is a simple printhead clog, running a cleaning cycle or two should clear out all the dried ink. If you replace the ink cartridges after the cleaning cycles and the print quality hasn’t improved, your printhead may be the culprit. Most printers today offer up some type of warning that there’s a structural problem with your printhead, indicating on the LCD screen with a warning like “printhead problem” or “printhead appears to be missing or damaged” to take a lot of the mystery out of your problems. Most printheads are easily replaceable, but they can get expensive. In many cases, replacing the printhead will cost as much as purchasing a replacement printer. And in other cases, installing a new printhead can be complicated and require some technical skill. Before you purchase a new replacement part, consult with the instruction manual to see whether or not it’s worth it. Often, a failed printhead is the perfect opportunity to pick up a unit that is better suited for your business, helping you save money in the long term.
